One of our key goals in developing SpeedLine is to leverage today's leading technology tools and security design theory to effectively safeguard your sales, customer, and employee information. SpeedLine security settings control access to sensitive areas, while allowing employees the access needed to perform their jobs. Logging of notable activity alerts you to suspicious transactions.

Security starts at the operating system (Microsoft Windows) level and the SpeedLine Desktop login account. The majority of the SpeedLine system security settings are in Store Manager, so it is important to know how to correctly set the Employee, Department and Station security settings.

SpeedLine offers User Identification accounts for Store Manager and Terminal with controls for system security and user access. Investigation and reporting tools keep your profits and data safe by giving you the power to closely monitor employee activity.

SpeedLine Security Features

User Access Controls

Windows Desktop (three different security accounts to allow different people different levels of system access).

Settings for each employee, department, and station regulate who has access to what information.

Investigation and Reporting Tools

Security reports to flag any notable system activity.

Ticket and credit card investigation tools to look for possible theft.

See Loss Prevention Strategies for more information.

Some examples of security safeguards include:

SpeedLine security settings control access to key areas of your SpeedLine system (for example: pay rates, banks, and login information). See View or Change Security Privileges for information on how to see or change employee security settings.

The System Event log tracks notable events that are prone to misuse, such as canceling a ticket, clock changes, training mode activity, street and zone table modifications, language filter exceptions, and possible labor code violations for minor employees.

SpeedLine saves original shift information and reports on shift edits, including who made the edits.

Ticket Activity reporting and "reason for action" prompts help you track possible theft. Cash drawers will not open and customer displays will show "NO SALE" when Training Mode is activated, and all activity is tracked through the System Events log.
