SpeedLine Desktop Security

Scroll Prev Top Next More

The SpeedLine Desktop replaces the Windows desktop on your SpeedLine stations. This keeps your employees from accessing files on your computer, playing games, or using the Internet. Your employees can only run the applications that are available from the SpeedLine Desktop (or from the Terminal Manager screen, if you have added program shortcuts there).

When your system was installed or upgraded, the SpeedLine Desktop was set up with the SpeedUser account and one or more shortcut buttons. Review the programs on all your stations to ensure that there are buttons on the SpeedLine Desktop for the applications you want your employees to be able to run—and only those applications. See Managing the Desktop for how to add or remove buttons.

Note HM

Important If employees have access to programs other than SpeedLine, they may be able to gain access to files on the computer.

Note HM

Note  There is no button on the SpeedLine Desktop for Menu Designer. Always run Menu Designer using the SLAdmin account. An employee logged in as SpeedUser cannot save any menu changes.
