Understanding Prices

Scroll Prev Top Next More

Price information for your menu items is contained in price nodes.

There are three types of price nodes in Menu Designer:

Price Nodes:

Description:

SinglePriceNodeIcon Single Price

Use a Single Price for an item that is only available in one size.

MultiPriceNodeIcon Multi Price

Use a Multi Price when an item is available in more than one size, or when you offer value pricing based on the amount of the item ordered.

ManualPriceNodeIcon Manual Price

Use a Manual Price for items that do not have a set price. A Manual Price will allow the order-taker to enter a sale price for the item into SpeedLine at the time of order-entry.

A price node can be applied to individual items and modifiers at the node level, or it can be applied to an entire group of items and modifiers at the group IconGroupNode level.

Best Practice HM

Hint Generally, if most or all of the items or modifiers in a group are the same price, create a price node for the group. If some items or modifiers in the group have a different price, create an individual price node for those. This will override the group price node.

Item and modifier nodes can have more than one price node under them. This enables you to create additional price nodes that apply when specific order types or price groups are selected.
