Create Alternate Pricing with Price Groups

Scroll Prev Top Next More

You can create alternate prices for your menu items—discounts or deals that apply to specific groups, organizations, dates or times—with Price Groups.

For example, by using Price Groups, you can create a special price that applies only when sports teams order from your restaurant, or you can offer special pricing at a certain time of day, such as "happy hour."

Best Practice HM

Hint If you want to change pricing based on location, the best method is to create Store Groups in your menu, and then assign the groups to price nodes. See Add Store Groups.

To use Price Groups, you define them in your menu, and then assign them to a price node that you have created with an alternate price. Terminal will use the alternate price node automatically during the days and times specified (for time-based Price Groups), or  the price group may be applied manually by selecting it on the Full Review> Options> Price Groups screen.

There are two different types of Price Groups that you can create.

Customer-based: Used for VIP customers, or customers that are part of an organization, like a sports team.

Time and date-based: Used when you want to apply alternate prices during a specific time period (for example "Happy Hour", or "Wing Wednesdays").

Important You have to activate your menu's Price Groups in Store Manager before you use them. View the Manage Price Groups topic in the Store Manager Help file for more instructions.
