You may offer some menu items as both delivery or take-out and eat-in order types. If you are using Inventory to track the usage of product packaging (for example, pizza boxes) you will need to include the packaging in the item contents of items for take-out or delivery, but exclude it from eat-in items. You can do this by creating extra Item Contents nodes that are restricted to the order types requiring packaging. Follow the steps below.
Note If you are not tracking the usage of packaging items such as pizza boxes when an item is sold, you do not need to complete this procedure. Skip to the next step. |
To Add Item Contents Nodes for Order Types Requiring Packaging
1.Right-click the existing Item Contents node of the item requiring packaging for delivery or take-out order types, and click Duplicate to create a contents node you will use for an order type that requires packaging (for example, delivery or takeout).
2.In the Name field, delete the "Copy of..." name and type a descriptive name. You may want to add the order type the node will be used for to the name, for example "Contents of Hawaiian Pizza - Delivery."
3.Click the Contents tab.
4.Click the Add button to create a new line.
5.Beside the Item/Modifier field, click the browse button
6.Select the packaging modifier in the list and click OK.
If you do not see packaging in the list, create a shortcut to the group it is located in...
.After adding all required packaging for the item, click the General tab.
.In the Order Type list, select the first order type that requires packaging, for example, "Delivery." These item contents will only be used if the specified order type is selected.
.If packaging is required for additional order types, right-click the Item Contents node that includes packaging, click Duplicate, and repeat the steps above, this time restricting the node to a different order type.
