To free up space on a menu panel, you can move some of your modifier (A Modifier is a choice that is applied to a menu item, such as a pepperoni topping on a pizza.) buttons to a modifier pop-up panel. This panel will pop up when an order-taker touches a related button on the menu panel. For example, touching a "Sauce" button on the menu panel could cause a pop-up panel containing buttons for Alfredo, Marinara, and White sauce to appear.

Important You should already know how to create modifier buttons before following the steps in this topic. See Add Item or Modifier Buttons for more information. |
Creating a modifier pop-up panel is a two-part process. First, you need to create the modifier pop-up panel and its components. Second, you need to create a button on your main panel that will trigger the pop-up when touched.
1.In the Menu Tree, right-click on the Panels main branch
, point to Add, and then click Modifier Popup Panel.
2.Select the Active check box.
3.In the Name field, enter a name for the modifier pop-up panel. Press the TAB key to auto-fill the Caption field with the same name.
4.Select the Auto Refresh Captions check box.
5.In the Menu Tree, double-click the new Modifier Popup Panel node
to open the Panel Designer.
6.Add modifier buttons using the Add Buttons wizard, or manually. A Close button will be automatically added to the pop-up in Terminal, so that users are able to close it.
|
Note Modifier pop-up panels can contain a maximum of 40 modifier buttons. |
7.Add any needed titles or background shapes to the new panel.
8.Create a button to link to the pop-up panel from a main menu panel (see To Link to a Panel in the Current Menu File for instructions).
