In this step, you will :
•Add a modifier node for each of your non-saleable items.
Note Always put modifiers into groups. Groups perform two functions: they keep your menu organized and, together with a Shortcut node, provide a way to link your menu items together. By building your menu in this way, you only need to add one node for each menu item in your restaurant; there is no need to create multiple nodes for the same menu item. For example, pepperoni may be a topping that is used for pizzas and subs, but you only need to make one pepperoni node. Give your pizzas and subs access to the pepperoni node by creating shortcuts between each of their respective groups. |
To Add Modifiers to the Menu Tree:
1.In the Menu Tree, select the group that will contain the new modifiers. On the toolbar, click the Wizard button , and then click Bulk Item/Modifier Creation Wizard. Click Next.
2.Select Modifiers, and then click Next. (When would I choose Both? If the menu item can be sold on its own, and be used to modify another menu item, then you would select Both. An example would be ice cream. A bowl of ice cream could be sold on its own, or it could be added to a pie. (If you are creating a pizza that can be portioned, select Both.))
3.Click Add to add a new item entry row.
4.Type a name for the new modifier. Press TAB to auto-fill the Caption field with the new name.
Hint You can "cut and paste" a list of item names from another document into the wizard by clicking the Quick List Entry button and pasting the item name list into the text field. |
5.Repeat steps 3 and 4 to add additional modifiers. If you need to remove a modifier, select it and then click Remove. When you are finished adding modifiers, click Next.
6.Select the Modifier Highlight check box if you want modifiers to be printed in red ink on print tickets (or in the highlight style selected on the Store Manager Hardware> Printers> Device tab, if using a thermal printer). Click Next.
7.Select an item category (Item Categories are a way for you to group your menu items together electronically) from the Category list. This category will be used to track sales of the modifiers. Click Done to complete the wizard.
The new modifier nodes will appear in the Menu Tree. To edit modifier's properties in the future, click on the modifier node and adjust its properties in the Property Editor.
