Set Employee Messaging Options

Scroll Prev Top Next More

The SpeedLine messaging tool allows you to send messages to your employees through Terminal. If they have sufficient permission, employees can also send messages to each other. It is an efficient way to keep in touch with the entire staff. You can use this option to communicate with employees who are working a different shift, to send general messages to the entire staff, or even to send a private note to one specific person.

To Set Employee Messaging Options:

1.Go to the Settings> People> Employee Options icon_employeeOptions> General tab.

2.Select Use Employee Messaging to activate the internal messaging system in Terminal.

3.In the Check Messages On area, select when employees will be prompted to check messages:

Select Clock-In to notify employees of new messages when they clock in to Terminal to start a new shift.

-or-

Select Log-In to notify employees of new messages when they log in to Terminal.

4.In the Message Notification area, select how the employees will be notified that they have messages:

Select Inform to indicate new messages by a blinking notice at the top of the Terminal screen.

-or-

Select Display to immediately display messages to the employee.

5.On the Edit menu, click Save Changes.

Hint To view confirmed messages that have been previously sent, go to the employee profile [Access an employee's profile by going to the Settings> People> Employees screen and double-clicking the employee's name in the list.] Comments and Messages tab. Each employee profile stores a log of all confirmed messages they received. Messages that have not been sent using the Terminal "Confirm" option are not saved to the Comments and Messages tab.
