Implement a Setting Update Package

Scroll Prev Top Next More

Settings that have been packaged in a setting update package (.sup or .txt) file must be implemented at the store level. This can be done by copying the received file into a specified directory for automatic implementation, or by manually opening and implementing the update package in Store Manager.

Note HM

Note If you are using SpeedLink, setting update packages will be automatically transferred to the correct directory for implementation.

To Set Up Automatic Implementation of an Update Package

Copy the settings update package file you received into the C:\SpeedLine\Packages folder on the station 1 hard drive. (Create the Packages folder if it does not exist.) The changes will be implemented automatically when the Setting Updater utility runs at 5 am the next day.

To Implement a Binary Setting Update Package Manually

1.Under the File menu, click Open Package.

2.Browse to the binary settings update package (.sup) file, click to select it, and then click Open.

3.Under the Package menu, click Browse Package. Settings that are part of the package are listed.

4.Click the Options tab to view the activation time and description, if one has been entered.

Warning HM

Caution Implementing changes cannot be undone, except by manually changing the settings back to what they were prior to implementation.

5.Click the Implement Changes button, and then click OK. Changes are implemented either immediately, or as soon as the activation time has passed (see To Choose Activation Time in Create a Setting Update Package).

6.Review the changed settings in Store Manger.

7.Refresh Terminal on all stations to implement your new settings.
