If your store is complying with requirements for strong passwords as outlined by the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) use the following procedure to change the password that you use to gain full access to Store Manager.
To comply with PCI DSS requirements, passwords must be changed at least every 90 days (SpeedLine recommends once a month on the same day), and new passwords cannot be the same as the last four passwords.
Hint If you are changing SpeedLine passwords for several employees, it is faster and easier to use the Password Maintenance utility. See Change Passwords Using the Password Maintenance Utility for instructions. |
To Change Your SpeedLine Password
1.Log into Store Manager with the existing password.
Note If you have forgotten your old password, your password must be reset. You can use the Password Maintenance utility for this, or a person with a working strong password can log in to Store Manager and complete the procedure: Assign Strong Employee Passwords. |
2.On the File menu, click Change Password.
3.In the Old Password field, type your current password (if you do not yet have a strong password, enter your user ID or leave this blank).
4.In the New Password field, type a new strong password (one at least 7 characters long, containing both letters and numbers).
5.In the Confirm New Password field, type the new password a second time.
6.Click OK. The password is changed.
