When using Inventory, you may periodically need to change stock levels to account for waste, spoilage, or transfer to another store.
Hint If you are receiving stock that was transferred to your store from another store, use a receive batch to adjust your stock levels. See Receive Stock Items for instructions. |
Batch Types
There are three Adjust / Transfer Batch Types:
•Adjust: This can be used to manually increase (using a positive value) or decrease (using a negative value), the stock quantities. You can enter a short note describing the reason for this adjustment, such as “receive error.” This feature allows for manual adjustment to rectify miscellaneous stock discrepancies.
•Adjust for Waste: This feature is used to decrease the stock levels to account for waste. It allows for a short note describing how the waste happened, such as “dropped on floor.” Adjust for Waste is only meant to track stock items that are wasted, for example, a jar of mayonnaise dropped on the floor. For menu items that are made for an order and then dropped or burnt, for example a pizza, re-enter the item in Terminal, and then void it and select "made" when prompted.
•Transfer: Enter a number to decrease the stock quantities for a transfer to another store. For example, if you transferred nine bottles of wine to another location, you would enter "9". You can enter a short note describing the reason for the transfer and identifying the location that received the items.
To Adjust or Transfer Stock
1.Go to Settings> Inventory> Adjust/Transfer.
2.Click the arrow beside the Add button to select one of the batch types described above.
3.Use the Reference field to type in a brief description of the reason for the waste, adjustment or transfer, for example, "Dropped on floor." or "Transferred to Store #1234."
4.To add the items you are adjusting or transferring to the batch, click the lower Add button.
5.Click the Item field, and then click the arrow to select the items you want to adjust.
6.Enter a Quantity.
Notes If you are adjusting for a receive error, you may need to enter a negative quantity. See Correct Receive Mistakes for instructions. |
7.Select the correct Unit.
8.When you have entered all items, click the Post button. This will post the batch and adjust your inventory levels.
9.To print batch details, click the Print button and follow the instructions in the Report Options Wizard wizard.
Notes -All of the batch types will give an error message indicating insufficient stock if you attempt to Adjust or Transfer to a negative stock level (less than zero stock on hand).
-If the Unit you are looking for is not listed, ensure that it is set up as a Count Unit, and that there are either UOM or Custom Conversions created for it.
-The Employee field lists the name of the employee logged in when the batch was posted. The Type field lists the type of batch occurred, e.g., waste or transfer. |
To Use the Filter
1.Depress the Filter button to display all batches, including posted batches, in the Adjust/Transfer batch list.
2.Use the drop-down filter on the Type, Employee (see Note below), or Reference columns to filter the batches. If your list is still too long to search through, you can sort any of the columns in either ascending, or descending order. See Adjust the Information Views.
