In some cases, you may not want restrictions to be applied to all employees that meet the age criteria you have specified when setting up Employee Restrictions. For example, some states allow minor employees to work late or longer hours if they have written parental consent. Use one of the procedures below to exempt certain employees from restrictions.
To Exempt an Employee from All Restrictions
1.Go to Settings> People> Employees.
2.Double-click the employee you want to exempt from restrictions.
3.In the Minor Restrictions Group list, select Exempt.
4.Click OK to save your changes and close the employee profile.
5.Refresh Terminal. The employee will now be exempt from any employee work restrictions.
To Exempt an Employee from Only Certain Restrictions
You may want to exempt an employee from certain restrictions (for example, how late they can work) while still allowing other restrictions (for example, a maximum 40-hour week) to apply. To do this, you will need to create a new restriction and assign it to a restriction group, then assign that group to exempt employees.
1.Go to the Settings> People> Minor Employee Restrictions > Restrictions tab.
2.Create a new restriction that will apply to the exempted employees (see Set Employee Work Restrictions).
3.Assign the restriction to a group:
a.Double-click the restriction that you created in step 2.
b. In the Restrictions window, add a new Restrictions Group by typing a new name (for example, "Consent Form") in the Restrictions Group field.
c.Change the settings in the General, Weekly, and Daily tab to specify the conditions you want to apply to the exempted employee. For example, if the employee has permission to work late, click the Daily tab and change the Latest Clock Out Time on the days they are allowed to work late.
d.Click OK.
4.Assign the restrictions group to an exempted employee:
a.Go to Settings> People> Employees.
b.Double-click the employee you want to assign the group to.
c.In the Minor Restrictions Group list, select the group to apply to this employee.
d.Click OK to save your changes and close the employee profile.
5.Refresh Terminal.
