To integrate SpeedLine Inventory with the McLane SourceLink™ food ordering program, you must change the Windows permissions on the folder that contains the SourceLink files. This will allow SpeedLine to receive stock item information from, and write to, files in this folder. This procedure is normally performed only at SourceLink setup.

To Set File Permissions on the SourceLink™ Folder

Caution Please follow these instructions precisely. Missing a step could cause your SourceLink™ folder to become inaccessible.

1.Log in as an Administrator on the computer that runs SourceLink™.

2.Open Windows Explorer.

3.Double-click on the C: drive.

4.Right-click on the PFS folder, click Properties, and then click the Security tab.

Note C:\PFS is the usual location of the SourceLink™ program. If this is not the location on your computer, browse to the correct location, or search for the PFS folder.

5.Click the Advanced button.

6.Clear the Inherit from parent the permissions entries that apply to child objects. Include these with entries explicitly defined here check box.

7.When asked to Copy or Remove, click the Remove button.

8.Select each group/user in the list and click the Remove button until the list is empty.

9.Click Add, type Everyone, and then click OK.

10.To the right of Full Control, select the Allow check box, which should check all the boxes below it, and then click OK.

11.Select the Replace Permission entries on all child objects with entries shown here that apply to child objects check box, and click OK.

12.Click Yes to the Security prompt, and then click OK.

13.To continue with setup, enter the McLane supplier options in the Store Manager Supplier-specific tab.
