Checking your menu is an important task—it informs you of the nature and location of possible problems, so that you can fix them before using the menu in Terminal. When you check the menu, you will either get a message stating that there are no problems, or a list of menu exceptions categorized as hints, warnings, or errors.

Note HM

Note Inactive menu nodes are not included in the menu check.

To Check the Menu:

1.On the Standard Toolbar, click the Check Menu button. ButtonCheckMenu

-or-

On the Tools menu, click Check Menu.

2.Menu Designer lists any hints, warnings or errors it finds at the bottom of the screen. Double-click a hint, warning or error to jump to where the problem is located.

Note HM

Note If the hint, warning or error is in the Menu Root tabs, double-clicking will not work. You will have to navigate to the tab manually in order to fix the problem.

3.Fix any errors that are found.

Note HM

Note Hints and Warnings do not require that you take any action, but Errors must be fixed before the menu file will function correctly in Terminal.

4.Repeat steps 1 to 3 until the menu is error free.
