Menu nodes and recipes can be exported from Menu Designer in formats that you can use or view in other applications, or import into a database. For example, export your item nodes or recipes in a comma separated value (CSV) format to open and analyse the data in a spreadsheet program such as Excel. Export items to SpeedDine to speed online menu building in SpeedDine Admin. Or export a menu to XML format to allow database reporting, or to assist your third-party online ordering provider in building your online menu.
Follow the instructions below for the export format you require.
To Export Item Nodes in CSV Format:
•See Export Item and Modifier Information. This exports a list of items and modifiers, PLUs, categories, and more.
To Export Recipes in CSV Format:
1.On the File menu, click Export Recipes to CSV.
2.Type a name for the exported menu file in the File name field.
3.Click Save. A CSV version of the menu showing each item, its PLU, and the amount of each stock item they contain is created.
To Export a Menu to SpeedDine:
1.On the File menu, click Export to SpeedDine.
2.If you have more than one store group in the menu, select which group to export information for, and click OK.
3.Type a name for the exported file in the File name field.
4.Click Save. An JSON file of the menu information is saved, and can be imported into SpeedDine Admin. Menu items, modifiers, sizes, and modifier types, are included; packaging and other items that would not be ordered online are not.
To Export a Menu in XML Format:
5.On the File menu, click Export to XML.
6.Type a name for the exported menu file in the File name field.
7.Click Save. An XML version of the entire menu is created.
