Put Items and Modifiers into Categories

The Item Categories wizard will help you make sure that all of your items (Anything that can be sold to a customer is considered a menu item. Pizza, drinks, and promotional merchandise are examples of menu items.) and modifiers (A Modifier is a choice that is applied to a menu item, such as a pepperoni topping on a pizza. have been assigned an item category. By using the wizard, you can assign or change categories for all your items and modifiers from a single window.

To Use the Item Categories Wizard:

1.Click the Menu Root ButtonRootMenu, click the Wizards button, ButtonWizard and then click Item Categories Wizard.

2.Click Next.

3.Click the Unassigned category. In the right pane, drag any unassigned items to a category.

4.To change the category assignment of an item, select the item's current category, and then drag the item to its new category.

5.Once you are finished, click Next to move to the Modifiers tab.

6.Repeat steps 3 and 4 for your modifiers. When finished, click Done.

Note Items and modifiers should have an item category if you want them to appear in category-based reports.
