Scan Your Finger

Scroll Prev Top Next More

Note HM

Note This procedure is not intended to replace any model-specific use and care documentation that may have been provided by the manufacturer of your sensor.

To Scan Your Finger with the Finger Sensor:

Place your index finger gently but firmly in the middle of the oval sensor area. If login is successful, your display name appears on the upper left of the screen.

Best Practice HM

Hint  Pressing too hard will cause the fingerprint to be distorted, while too little pressure will not allow enough of your finger to contact the sensor surface.

If you are having difficulty scanning your finger successfully, try the following:

Clean the sensor.

Unplug the sensor (if possible) and then plug it back into the same outlet (this causes the device to re-register).

Re-register your fingerprint in Store Manager (this is typically a manager function).

Note HM

Note If your Finger Scanner hardware ever becomes disabled, you can press CTRL + U on the keyboard while in Terminal to activate the User ID login method.
