If you have several stores in the same area, you can assign Store IDs to delivery zones in order to trigger a Terminal message that will tell order takers when a customer's delivery zone is outside the area your store delivers to, and suggest the name and address of the appropriate store. If the store ID assigned to the zone is not the current store's ID, the order cannot be completed without a manager override.
To Warn Order Takers When the Customer's Delivery Zone is Assigned to Another Store
1.Add alternate stores in your area to the Stores table. See Manage the Stores Table.
2.Assign a store ID to each delivery zone:
a.Go to Settings> People> Delivery Zones.
b.Double-click a zone to open the Edit Zone Detail window.
c.In the Store ID field, enter the store ID of the store that delivers to this zone:
•For zones that the current store delivers to, enter the store ID found in the System> Store Information> Store ID field.
-or-
•For zones that other stores deliver to, enter a store ID from the Stores table.
d.Click OK to close the edit window.
e.Repeat for all zones.
Important Do not leave the Store ID field blank for any zones, or you will get an "invalid Store ID" error in Terminal. |
3.Click Customer Options in the side menu, and then click the Zones tab.
4.In the Zone Validation area, ensure the Check Store ID check box is selected.
Note The Check Store ID check box is only visible if you have stores listed in the Stores table. |
5.Refresh Terminal to implement the settings. If a customer's delivery zone is outside the store's delivery catchment area, the order-taker will receive a warning.
